IPTV on LG Smart TV: webOS Compatibility Guide

LG Smart TVs run webOS, a platform with a similarly limited native IPTV app catalogue to Samsung's Tizen, for the same underlying reason: it's a closed ecosystem without APK sideloading.

What's available on webOS

A handful of apps, including SS IPTV and Smart IPTV, are built specifically for webOS and Tizen. These generally work by pairing your TV's MAC address with a playlist through the app developer's own website, rather than a typical in-app login screen. Confirm the app's current setup process before relying on it, as these registration steps can change.

Using an external streaming device instead

Because webOS's native app selection is limited compared to Android-based platforms, many LG TV owners connect a separate Android TV box, Fire TV Stick, or similar HDMI device to access the wider range of IPTV apps covered on our apps page. This sidesteps webOS entirely and is often the simpler route if the built-in options don't fit your needs.
