What Is a MAC Address and Why Does IPTV Need It?
A MAC (Media Access Control) address is a unique 12-character hardware identifier assigned to every network interface in every device ever made. It looks like 00:1A:79:AB:CD:EF — six pairs of hexadecimal digits separated by colons or hyphens.
MAG boxes and similar IPTV set-top boxes use the MAC address as the device licence key. Instead of a username and password, the Stalker Middleware portal authenticates the device itself by its unique MAC address. This means:
One MAC = One Device
Your subscription is locked to your specific MAG box. You cannot use the same portal credentials on a different device without the provider updating the registered MAC address.
Format Must Be Exact
Providers require the MAC address in a specific format when registering. A single wrong character, or using dashes instead of colons, will cause authentication failure and a "not activated" error on screen.
Where to Find Your MAC
On a MAG box: Settings → System Information → Network. The MAC address is labelled "MAC Adress" (note the MAG firmware typo). It is also printed on the sticker underneath the device.

How to Register Your MAC Address with Global IPTV Net
Step 1: Find your MAC address
On your MAG box, press the Menu button → Settings → System Information → Network. Your MAC address is displayed in the format 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX.
Step 2: Copy the exact format
Use this tool above to validate the MAC. Copy the "Standard Colon Format" output — that is the version your provider needs. Do not add spaces or change any characters.
Step 3: Provide MAC when ordering
When you purchase a MAG box subscription from us via WhatsApp or the checkout, provide your MAC address at that point. We register it on the portal within minutes.
Step 4: Enter the portal URL
On your MAG box: Settings → Servers → Portals → Portal 1 URL. Enter the portal URL we provide. The box will authenticate using your MAC address automatically — no username or password required.
Frequently Asked Questions
The hardware MAC address is burned into the network chip and cannot be permanently changed. Some devices allow software-level MAC spoofing, but this is generally not needed for IPTV — just provide the real MAC address to your provider when registering.
Yes. The entire tool runs locally in your browser. Your MAC address is never sent to any server — it is only processed in JavaScript on your own device. A MAC address alone cannot be used to access your device or network from outside; it only matters within local network and IPTV portal authentication contexts.
OUI stands for Organisationally Unique Identifier — the first 3 bytes (6 hex characters) of a MAC address that identify the manufacturer. For example, MAG boxes made by Infomir start with 00:1A:79. The IEEE maintains the global OUI registry. Our checker includes the most common IPTV device manufacturers.
