What You Can Do With the Playlist Converter
Reduce a Bloated Playlist
A 15,000-channel playlist makes TiviMate slow to load and the EPG hard to navigate. Use group filtering to keep only Sports, News, and Movies — cut it down to 500 channels that load instantly.
Clean Up Group Names
Providers often use inconsistent group names: "US Sports", "USA Sports", "Sports USA". Rename them all to a single canonical group name so your IPTV app shows a tidy, unified sidebar.
Remove Dead Streams
Combine with our Playlist Checker — check streams there, then come back here to filter out offline channels and export a clean working-only playlist.
Prepare for Specific Apps
Some apps require tvg-id for EPG to work. Filter to only channels that have tvg-id set, then import the resulting playlist into TiviMate for a perfect EPG experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
No — the original file is never modified. The converter works on an in-memory copy. The output is a new file you download. Your original playlist on the server or your device is untouched.
This tool outputs standard M3U format, which is supported by virtually all IPTV players. XSPF and other playlist formats are rarely used in IPTV. If you need a specific format, the exported M3U can be imported into VLC which supports conversion to other formats via Media → Convert/Save.
Completely. All processing happens in your browser's JavaScript engine. Your M3U content, stream URLs, and credentials are never transmitted anywhere. You can verify this by disconnecting from the internet — the tool continues to work after the page loads.
