Troubleshooting Common Android TV IPTV Problems

App installed but channels won't load

+

Check these in order:

  1. Verify internet — test YouTube first to confirm it's working
  2. Double-check server URL, username, password — no extra spaces
  3. Confirm your subscription is active — contact our support team to verify
  4. Try wired Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi
  5. Restart the app and try again

Video is buffering or keeps freezing

+

Buffering is almost always a local network issue. Try:

  • Use Ethernet — Android TV boxes often have weak Wi-Fi antennas
  • Reduce quality — TiviMate: Settings → Playback → choose SD or HD
  • Increase buffer — TiviMate: Settings → Playback → Buffer Size → 10–15 seconds
  • Restart your router — unplug for 30 seconds
  • Use a VPN — some ISPs throttle IPTV streams during peak hours. ExpressVPN and NordVPN both work well on Android TV

App not available in my country's Play Store

+
Enable Unknown Sources in Android TV settings, then sideload via APK:
  1. Settings → Security → Enable "Install unknown apps"
  2. Install a file manager (e.g. FX File Explorer) from Play Store
  3. Download the APK to a USB drive and install via the file manager

Contact our support team — we'll send you a direct APK download link.

No sound or black screen on some channels

+
Usually a codec or audio output mismatch:
  • TiviMate: Settings → Playback → change Player to ExoPlayer
  • IPTV Smarters: Settings → Player → switch between Software and Hardware decoder
  • Set your TV's audio output to PCM instead of Dolby/Bitstream
  • Update the app to the latest version from Play Store

EPG / TV guide is blank or not showing

+
In TiviMate: Settings → Playlists → [your playlist] → EPG URL. If empty, contact us for your EPG URL — included with all subscriptions. After adding, tap Refresh EPG and wait 2–3 minutes.
